Berwick/Sanford Lodging By Region

West of Wells, Berwick and Sanford are convenient lodging locations removed from the traffic on Route 1, yet still a short commute to the coast. However, there is still much to entertain visitors staying in the Berwick and Sanford area. Visitors can hike, bike or picnic at the Vaughn Woods State Park in Berwick or find the same outing amusement on Mousam Way Trail System which stretches from Number One Pond to the Springvale Park (locally known as "The Rec"). In the warmer months, visitors can play a free round of disc golf at Gowen Park, jump off The Leap into Mousam River at Springvale Park, take in a play at Hackmatack Playhouse or catch a Sanford Mainer's game at Goodall Park. During the winter, Number One Pond is open for public ice skating. A round of golf may also be in order at The Links at Outlook in Berwick or at the Sanford Country Club.
